Cookies and similar technologies

This page explains what the Website at byjoom.com stores on your device, why, and how you can control it. It is written to meet regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, and the equivalent rules where the laws of the EU, Egypt and Jordan apply.
In short
- The Website sets no cookies.
- It uses no analytics, advertising, tracking, social-media or third-party scripts, and it loads fonts and images only from itself.
- It stores one small item on your own device, and only if you choose a language with the language toggle. It is never used to identify you or sent to advertisers.
What is stored
| Name | Where | What it holds | Purpose | Kept |
|---|---|---|---|---|
byjoom.lang | Your browser's local storage | ar or en, the language you chose with the toggle | To open pages in the language you chose | Until you clear it, or use the button below |
The item is set only when you press the language toggle. The Website's own code reads it to show you the language you asked for. We do not receive it.
Why we do not ask for consent for it
The storage is a preference that you request by using the toggle, and that makes the Website work as you asked, in your language. Under PECR as amended, storing or accessing information on your device for that purpose does not need your prior consent, provided that we give you clear information, as we do here, and you can remove it, as you can below. If we ever add any storage that is not covered by an exemption, such as analytics or advertising, we will update this page first and will ask for your consent before using it where the law requires it.
Technical logs
Our hosting and network providers keep technical logs when a page is requested, which include your IP address, time, page requested and device type. They are used to deliver the Website, to keep it secure and to diagnose faults. They are not cookies. See the Privacy notice for details.
How to control it
- Remove the language preference now:
- In your browser: you can delete site data for byjoom.com in your browser settings, and you can block local storage entirely. The Website works without it; you will simply need to choose the language each time.
- In a private window, nothing is kept after you close it.
Other websites
Links to other websites, and email links that open your mail program, are outside this page. Those sites and programs have their own policies.
Changes and questions
We will update this page if what the Website stores changes. Questions: legal@byjoom.com, subject "Cookies".
