Disclaimers and representation of projects
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This page explains what the projects, images and text on the Website do and do not represent. It forms part of the Website terms of use.
What the Website shows
- The Website is a showcase of architectural and engineering design work by JOOM. Projects shown may be at any stage, from concept to completion, and some may never be built. A project's appearance on the Website does not mean that it has been commissioned, funded, approved, started or finished, and it is not a statement of its legal, planning or construction status. For the status of any project, ask us.
- Where we say that a project is built, we mean that it has been constructed and the statement is accurate for the part of the project that we describe. Where a project is described as designed, we mean that we prepared its design.
- Unless a page says in terms that a project is complete and shows a photograph of it, you should assume that images are design visualisations and not photographs of a finished building.
Images and visualisations
- Images on the Website are design visualisations: computer-generated or computer-assisted illustrations that show how a building and its setting may look. They are illustrative. They show an intention and an atmosphere, and the building as constructed (if built) may differ in form, materials, finishes, planting, surroundings and the lighting and weather shown.
- Some visualisations may have been prepared or enhanced using artificial-intelligence-assisted tools. Where that is so, they are still design visualisations and are not evidence that a building exists or that an event or condition occurred.
- The designs, visualisations and images are protected by copyright and belong to their creator, unless a credit says that a work belongs to someone else (see the Legal notice).
- Vehicles, people, boats, signs and other incidental items in an image are illustrative, are not the property or the endorsement of any person, and do not show real individuals unless a credit says so.
- A visualisation is not a representation about the size, specification, price, availability, return or investment performance of a building. It is not an advertisement or an invitation to invest, buy or lease, and it is not a prospectus or a financial promotion.
Places, names and surroundings
- A place, landmark, neighbouring building or organisation shown or named is there to give location and context. It does not mean that the owner or operator of that place is connected with the project or with us.
- Project names are used by us for identification. We make no claim to any third party's name or mark.
- The description of a project's setting, use and design is our summary of the design intention. It is not a statement about a particular client, user or operator unless it says so.
No professional advice; no reliance
- The text and images on the Website are general information. They are not architectural, engineering, legal, planning, financial, valuation, tax or other professional advice, and they do not form a proposal, quotation or contract.
- You should not rely on the Website to make a decision about land, a building, an investment or a purchase. If you need advice, get advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.
- Articles and guides in the Journal. They explain ideas in general terms and often give our opinion. They are not instructions or specifications, and they may not apply to your project, your country or your site. Regulations, standards, products and practices change (for example the building regulations of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland differ and are updated from time to time), and an article may be out of date. Each article shows the date on which it was written. Before you act, check the current rules and ask a qualified professional. We do not guarantee that any article is complete, current or suitable for your purpose.
Services and sectors described on this website
The services and sectors listed on the Website describe what we can offer, directly or through our network of companies. They are not what every project includes. The services for a project are those in its written agreement; some are provided by other companies, each responsible for its own work; and where the law requires a locally licensed professional to sign or stamp a design, one is named in the agreement. Statements about our approach, standards and use of technology describe our intentions and methods and are not guarantees of any result. See Working with JOOM: agreements.
Accuracy and changes
We take care to be accurate, but information may be out of date or incomplete, and we may change or remove content at any time. Machine or human translations of the text (including into Arabic) are provided for convenience: the English text prevails to the extent the law allows, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
Third-party content and links
We do not control, and are not responsible for, websites or content we link to or that link to us. See the Website terms of use.
Limits on responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the Website. This does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded, including consumers' statutory rights.
Questions
If you think any statement on the Website is inaccurate or misleading, please tell us at legal@byjoom.com with the subject "Accuracy" and we will review it promptly.
