This is the legal notice for the website at byjoom.com (the Website). It tells you who is responsible for the Website, how to contact us, and where to find our legal terms. The company information required by law is at the end of this page.

Who we are

The Website presents the work and services of JOOM, the design practice that offers architecture and engineering services under the name byJOOM. The operator of the Website, and the company with which new agreements are made, is SAMADROCK LTD, trading as byJOOM ("JOOM", "we", "us", "our"). Its company information is at the end of this page. The services we provide in each country, and the entities through which we provide them, are described in Jurisdictions and governing law.

Our legal pages

Language

The legal pages are written in English, and the English text is the authoritative version. Arabic versions of the legal pages will be provided; until they are published, an Arabic reader should ask us for a courtesy summary. Where mandatory law of a country in which you live or in which a project is located requires a document to be available in Arabic, we will provide it.

Intellectual property and ownership

  1. Designs, drawings and images. Every design, drawing, model, specification, building information model, visualisation and image shown on or produced through JOOM, whether prepared under the name JOOM, by SAMADROCK LTD, or by any related company or Egyptian entity, and whether hand-drawn, drawn in CAD or generated digitally, was created by Eng. Mohamed Anise (the "Designer"). Under copyright law, the copyright and other intellectual property rights in them are owned personally by the Designer. They are not owned by any company or other entity. Companies and entities that provide JOOM's services do so under licence from the Designer.
  2. Other people's work. Where a work, image or text on the Website was not created by the Designer, the Website says so and names its owner or credits its source.
  3. The name and trade mark. The name and trade mark byJOOM™ are owned personally by the Designer.
  4. The Website. The text, layout and code of the Website are protected by the intellectual property laws that apply to them and are used under the rights held by us and by the Designer.
  5. What you may do. Section 3 of the Website terms of use explains what you may do with the Website's content, and section 9 of Working with JOOM: agreements explains the licence a client receives.

SAMADROCK LTD, trading as byJOOM

SAMADROCK LTD is the operator of the Website and, for the time being, the company that enters into new agreements for JOOM's services in the United Kingdom and, with the Egyptian entities described below, elsewhere. It carries on business under the name byJOOM, and the company name and registered office below are given in accordance with the law on business names and trading disclosures.

JOOM Architecture and Engineering Ltd

JOOM Architecture and Engineering Ltd is the company in which the JOOM practice was first established. It is a related company under common ownership and control with SAMADROCK LTD.

The company has not currently been restored to the register. Administrative steps are required either to restore it or to establish a successor company, and we intend to take them. This notice will be updated as soon as the status of JOOM Architecture and Engineering Ltd is Active, or if a successor company is established. While JOOM Architecture and Engineering Ltd is not Active, it does not enter into agreements, and new agreements are made by SAMADROCK LTD or by another entity that is lawfully able to contract and is named in the agreement. See section 2 of Working with JOOM: agreements.

SAMADROCK LTD and JOOM Architecture and Engineering Ltd are separate legal persons. Nothing in this notice makes either responsible for the other's obligations.

Egyptian entities

In the Arab Republic of Egypt, JOOM works with entities that are registered in Egypt. These are described in Jurisdictions and governing law. The Egyptian entity responsible for a given project is named in the written agreement for that project.
