Sustainability
Buildings that respond to climate, use less and last longer. Sustainability starts with the first sketch, not the last specification.
How we approach it
We design for sun, wind, heat, water and materials from the start, then check the result with analysis. Where a project requires a rating system, we work with accredited assessors and the project team.
Our principles
- Climate-responsive design: orientation, shade and ventilation first.
- Operational energy: lower demand, then efficient systems, then renewables.
- Embodied carbon: less material, lower-carbon material, reuse.
- Circular design: buildings that adapt and can be taken apart.
- Sustainable materials: durable, local and responsibly sourced.
- Resilience and adaptation: heat, flood and change.
- Healthy buildings: air, light, comfort and quiet.
- Biodiversity and landscape: planting, water and habitat.
- Regenerative design: buildings that give back.
Evidence
We do not publish performance figures or certifications on this page. Where a project reports measured performance or holds a certification, it is stated on that project with its evidence. See Standards and quality.
