Supplier code of conduct
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This code sets out what JOOM expects from the consultants, contractors, suppliers, fabricators and other companies and individuals it works with ("Suppliers"). It supplements Business conduct and compliance and the written agreement with each Supplier. In a conflict, the agreement prevails.
Legal compliance
Suppliers comply with all laws that apply to their work in every country where they operate, hold the licences, registrations and insurance their work requires, and tell us promptly if one lapses.
Integrity
Suppliers do not offer, give, ask for or accept bribes or improper advantages, including facilitation payments, to or from anyone. Gifts and hospitality are modest, transparent and never given to influence a decision. Suppliers keep accurate records and disclose conflicts of interest.
Sanctions, export controls and money laundering
Suppliers comply with applicable sanctions and export-control laws, do not deal with sanctioned persons in connection with our work, and cooperate with reasonable due-diligence requests, including about ownership and the source of funds.
Health and safety
Suppliers keep a safe working environment, comply with health and safety law, assess and control risks, provide training and protective equipment, and report incidents and near misses promptly. We expect a safe design to be built safely.
People and labour
Suppliers respect human rights. They do not use forced, bonded, trafficked or child labour, pay workers lawfully and on time, respect working-hours and rest requirements, provide safe accommodation where they house workers, do not discriminate or harass, and allow workers to raise concerns without fear.
Environment
Suppliers comply with environmental law, manage waste and emissions responsibly, use materials efficiently, and tell us about lower-impact options where they exist.
Quality
Suppliers deliver work that meets the specification, codes and standards, check their own work, keep records and correct defects promptly.
Subcontracting
Suppliers do not subcontract any part of the work without our written agreement, and are responsible for their subcontractors' compliance with this code.
Information and confidentiality
Suppliers keep project and client information confidential, protect personal data in line with the law, and do not put confidential project information into public artificial-intelligence tools without permission.
Intellectual property
Suppliers respect the intellectual property in our designs and drawings, use them only for the project they were provided for, and do not copy or reuse them. See the Legal notice.
Monitoring and consequences
We may ask for information, check compliance and, where the agreement allows, audit. We may suspend or end a relationship with a Supplier that does not meet this code. Suppliers can raise concerns under our Whistleblowing page.
