Standards and quality
Good buildings come from careful work and clear standards.
Codes and standards
We design to the codes and regulations of the country where the project is located. Examples include the Egyptian building codes and fire-safety requirements, the UK Building Regulations and the Eurocodes, and any international standard a client requires.
Checking before issue
We review drawings, specifications and models for coordination between disciplines and for compliance before they are issued, so that errors are found in the office and not on site. See Quality assurance and compliance.
Licensed professionals
Where the law requires a design or document to be signed or stamped by a locally licensed professional or office, one is named in the agreement and does so. See Jurisdictions and governing law.
Health and safety
Safety is a design duty. We design with the safety of the people who will build, use, maintain and demolish the building in mind. See Business conduct and compliance.
Sustainability
We design for climate, energy, water and materials from the first sketch. See Sustainability and environmental design.
Information and confidentiality
Project files are handled in confidence and personal data is handled as set out in our Privacy notice.
Insurance and agreements
Professional indemnity insurance, liability and the responsibilities of each party are set out in the written agreement for each project. Registrations, memberships and certifications held by the contracting entity are stated in the agreement or on request.
