How we work in Europe
Practising architecture and engineering, using the title architect, and signing and submitting applications are regulated country by country. We work with companies and professionals registered in the country of the project, and the agreement names them. See Jurisdictions and governing law.
Codes and climate
National and regional building codes apply, supported by the Eurocodes and their national annexes, energy-performance rules and climate-specific requirements, from Mediterranean heat to Atlantic damp and cold.
Liability and insurance
Many countries impose mandatory liability and insurance on designers and builders. We identify the rule and the insurance at the start, and the agreement says how they are met.
