A terminal on a historic airfield
Nouzha Executive Airport is a concept design for a private aviation terminal on the site of the former El-Nouzha Airport. It is for executives, owners and delegations flying privately, and the design puts calm first: a quiet drive-up arrival, a reception hall, lounges, a restaurant and private dining, and direct access to the aircraft apron and hangars.
A roof that flows
One sweeping roof flows across the terminal, shading the glass and the arrival court. In the pictures the roof is a long pale curve, wider than the building beneath it,. Behind it, the apron and the aircraft are in view.

A covered arrival with water and planting
The arrival is covered and green. Water and planting fill the court, olive trees stand against the stone, and the vehicle drops off under the roof. For a place where people arrive in a hurry, the first thing the design asks them to do is slow down.
Pierced screens and Alexandrian stone
Pale natural stone, pierced decorative screens and olive trees give the building an Alexandrian character. The restaurant sits beneath a pierced stone screen that filters the light into a lattice of shadow. Inside, lounges and dining rooms look over the apron through the same sun-shading roof.
Natural stone, simple planning and a landscape that gives the airport a lasting civic presence.

A roof that is also a landscape
The landscaped roof lets the terminal sit calmly beside the apron. From a distance the building does not read as a hangar or a shed but as a low, planted piece of ground. At sunset the whole composition glows warmly, with private jets standing in front.
A lasting civic presence
Natural stone, simple planning and a landscape give the airport a lasting civic presence. A private terminal is a small public building in disguise, and the design lets it behave like one.
